Overview

During the admission process, eligible students are invited to enroll in the Campos School. The Campos School is designed for students who need a stronger foundation. Through personalized support and a close-knit community, students will build academic skills and confidence to succeed in their courses, make steady progress each term, and achieve the meaningful milestone of earning an associate degree.

Students who begin pursuing a bachelor’s degree at La Salle and experience academic challenges that may affect timely degree completion may be invited to transfer to the Campos School to pursue an associate degree through an invitation-only process. This pathway is designed to support the development of academic skills, build confidence, and regain momentum by earning an associate degree—serving as a seamless pathway toward successfully achieving their bachelor’s degree.

Policies

The following policies are specific to all students in the Campos School, with the exception of those in the BUSCA program, pursuing an associate degree. 

Credit Applicability 

• At least 30 credits of the 60 required must be taken at La Salle University
• All La Salle coursework (and previous transfer credits) remains part of the student’s academic record, with eligible credits applied toward required or elective associate degree requirements

Tuition and Financial Aid  

• Student tuition is the Campos rate per credit hour
• Students transferring into the Campos School at any time during their second semester will:  
  • Pay their original undergraduate tuition rate through the end of that semester, or 
  • Have tuition recalculated only at the start of a new academic year
• Campos students may be eligible for:
  • Federal Pell Grants
    • Pell Grant will cover the 2^nd time students takes a course; Pell Grant does not cover the 3^rd time a student takes a course
  • Pennsylvania State Grant
    • PA State Grant will not cover tuition for a course taken multiple times
  • Private loans and scholarships
• In order to continue receiving federal aid, students must make Standard Academic Progress (SAP) yearly

Degree Completion and Continued Study

Campos students must complete the associate degree prior to transitioning into a bachelor’s degree program.

• Students who complete the associate degree:
  • Apply for graduation and degree conferral
  • Are awarded a La Salle University diploma
  • Are invited to participate in the next scheduled commencement ceremony
• Admission into specific bachelor’s majors is subject to published academic criteria in the University Catalog.

Campus Engagement

Campos students are:

• Permitted to live on campus
• Encouraged to participate in La Salle clubs, organizations, and intermural sports
• Encouraged to try out for Cheerleading, Dance Team, and Pep Band
• Not permitted to participate on NCAA athletic teams

Policies Specific to Students Invited to Transfer to the Campos School 

Traditional first year students who, after completing their first two semesters at La Salle University, demonstrate  academic challenges that impede timely progression toward a bachelor's degree may be invited into the Campos School. Students admitted to the Campos School build confidence and momentum toward earning an associate degree, before continuing toward bachelor's degree completion. 

Transfer into the Campos School is by invitation only (a student may not apply directly to the Campos School). The Provost or Director of the Campos School formally invite eligible students to transfer from a bachelor’s degree program to an associate degree program.

Eligibility

Students may be considered for transfer into the Campos School if they:

• Are enrolled the preceding spring to transfer into the Campos School for fall
• Have completed two semesters
• Have earned between 18 and 32 credits
• Have a cumulative GPA between 1.75 and 2.5
• Are not suspended
• Were recommended by a success coach, advisor, or assistant dean
• Have a La Salle account balance below $500

The referral process will include: 

• Academic record review 
• Advising and faculty input 
• Financial Aid clearance
• Consultation with Campos School leadership
• Students are required to meet with Campos School to discuss expectations, outcomes, and costs 
• Students invited for transfer must sign an acknowledgment confirming that they understand: 
  • Associate degree options and requirements
  • Structure and support of Campos
  • Tuition and financial aid implications 
  • Credit transferability 
  • Degree completion requirements

Program Capacity

• Admission is not guaranteed, even if eligibility criteria are met
• Campos School leadership retains the authority to:  
  • Set annual caps on internal transfers 
  • Deny transfer requests based on cohort balance, instructional capacity, or support staffing
